Disneyworld and Universal Studios
Submitted by megan on Fri, 04/12/2013 - 15:17We went to Florida a few months ago, and I thought it blogworthy. So, here are some pictures!
We stopped in Savannah, GA on the way and it was beautiful! It was already pretty humid and toasty and it was only December. Very pretty town.
DISNEYWORLD
The boys had a love/hate relationship with splash mountain! They were scared sometimes and the next ride, they loved it. Nice thing was, we went on it multiple times because there were NO LINES.
This is on the railroad, do you see that there are NO LINES????
Wyatt had a little meltdown until he got some food. He was so upset we practically had to hold him down to take a bite of a cookie. After some food, he was a different boy!
Look closely – Wyatt says the sign states “NO DANCING.” We laughed so hard! As a side note, the boys were tall enough for every single ride, with the exception of Space Mountain, which Wyatt didn’t quite make the cutoff. Harry was able to go on it by the fluff of his hair! He loved it.
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
The animal show was really neat!
These were the only characters that the boys met (at Disneyworld or Universal). It was pretty much because they were just hanging around waiting for anyone to come greet them. Again: NO LINES!!!!! They do actually like Dora and Diego so it was appropriate.
During the parade, so many participants gave the boys high five!
This was their favorite ride.
There were a couple of rides the boys couldn’t go on at Universal and the one in this picture was one of them. It was extreme fun! On the first part, you are going completely vertical and then it just goes crazy. You can choose the music you listen to during the ride. Did I mention there was NO LINE!!!! David and I traded off and we went straight to the front.
We also took a day to relax in between Disney and Universal, and we went to Cocoa Beach! Super fun….it’s just so relaxing to play and rest on the beach. The water was just a bit chilly, so we played in the sand a lot. Wyatt would have played in the water.
The trip was amazing. I will never go to the theme parks in the busy season, because the second week of December was just way too good! There is a reason people retire to Florida because the weather in December was incredible.

Harry took this and I for some reason I like it.
It’s a crane! They love it.
Rochester
Submitted by megan on Tue, 09/04/2012 - 19:45Our trip was amazing. We laughed and talked and talked and rested and ate and celebrated. I feel completely myself around the Ellsworths and our boys play so well together. We had passed through there on our Canada road trip, but this time we saw much more. It is a neat city! There is just nothing in the world like great friends. They were expensive friends because David had to go to his first year of medical school to meet them!
I’m still convinced they are the reason that David went to that year of medical school.
The market was amazing!! It was super busy, and the it was a little nuts with all the kids, but still really neat. We bought a lot of produce that was snacked on over the course of the weekend.
“Garbage Plate” from a certain restaurant I can’t remember, but it’s Rochester’s specialty.
Sums up most of the weekend
Wyatt dug up this Barbie! Wonder how long she’s been down there…
These are from Lake Ontario. The weather was PERFECT. It was like a little slice of heaven.
This is really fun. Jonathan and I both took from Dr. Holden at BYU (he’s now at Eastman) and they are in the same ward as the Ellsworths! So so great to see them and catch up. Gillian was also a BYU music school graduate in Violin. Talk about some awesome music genes! They invited our whole crew over for pancake breakfast on Labor Day!!
The boys, minus one.
Showin some love at High Falls
Ice cream from Abbots! MMmmmmm…..

Today has seemed pretty laid back, but I think I’m still in denial that he’ll be gone for 6.5 hours M-F. What a change. He is thrilled to be in school, and he is going to do so well I just know it. I hope he makes friends, becomes a leader and stands for what is right. ![]()
Mud
Submitted by megan on Tue, 06/19/2012 - 21:40Harry and Wyatt have created a hole that they continuously fill and dig. I was cleaning up the kitchen and Wyatt decided that it might be fun to fill it with water. AND IT WAS! I love that Wyatt enjoys being outside so much. Most of the time if he hasn’t been outside by 10am he’ll come up to me and declare “we haven’t been outside yet!” He will play out there by himself for quite a while. Sweet boy.
